IDOL: Disco Danny Shows Off "Sexy Voice"

Get out the bell bottoms and platform shoes!
It was disco night on American Idol Tuesday for the seven remaining contestants (Matt Giraud was saved from elimination last week) and Danny Gokey, the 28-year-old widower from Milwaukee, continued to impress.
His rousing rendition of Earth, Wind And Fire's September garnered praise from the judges and cheers from the audience.
Kara DioGuardi said Gokey is always able to maintain his pitch, Paula Abdul told him she thinks he has a "sexy voice," and Randy Jackson said he was able to successfully tailor the song's nuances to his style. Naturally, Simon Cowell did the heavy lifting, giving Gokey both the good news (great vocals, good arrangement) and the bad (awkward and clumsy stage presence, no star power).
The results show airs Wednesday at 9/8c.
