Regardless of whether or not Adam Lambert takes home this season's American Idol crown, it's clear that we won't have heard the last from this very talented young man.
As is, the 27-year-old Los Angeles native continued his ascension to stardom (and put Vanilla Ice to shame) with an energy-packed rendition of Wild Cherry's Play That Funky Music.
The judges agreed, with Paula Abdul calling Lambert a "genius" in the mold of Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler, while talent evaluator extraordinaire Randy Jackson told him he was "definitely in the star zone."

Lambert himself kept him humility as his star meter continues to rise, thanking the band for their efforts.
