By the time lawyer Debra Opri is done with him, Larry Birkhead may not be able to afford a pen to write a check for the amount of money she says he owes her.

Anna Nicole Smith's baby daddy suffered a setback in court Thursday when he lost a bid to go to arbitration in the dispute surrounding legal fees allegedly owed to Opri. A northern California court of appeal denied Larry's request in the battle for $620,000.

Opri represented Larry in his paternity case against Howard K. Stern for Dannielynn.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com Opri said: "I have been ready for trial for the past two years. Mr. Birkhead has a lot of dirty laundry that is going to be aired. In the end, he may be sorry what he wished for. Mr. Birkhead shouldn't go head to head with me, it's a battle he can't win."

Dirty laundry? Dish it! But no, Opri's saving it for court.

However, she did tell us that she loaned Birkhead more than $100,000 while representing him and now says: "It's very regrettable, he welched on a loan."

Ok, NOW we see why she's so fired up!
