Teacher Caught Having Sex With Foster Son

Oklahoma teacher Stephanie Cowan is facing three counts of rape for having sex with her teenage foster son after vacationing with him in Florida, said lawmen.
Cowan, a science teacher at a junior high school in Pryor, has admitted to having intimate relations with the boy who was placed in her care by the state’s Department of Human Services.
Cops said the teen reported having sex with his foster mom on their way home from a holiday — and three more times after that.
“She advised the first time they had sex was in his room, the second time was in her room and the third time was in the bathroom of her residence,” Pryor Police Department Assistant Chief James Willyard reports.
Cowan, a first year teacher at the school, has been suspended from her position, and the boy was removed from her home.
She admitted to investigators she knew the sexual relationship was wrong, according to reports.

Officials from the state said the boy was placed in Cowan’s care under a contract with a private company in Kansas.
“We have many safeguards and checks in place to ensure safety of all the foster families we support,” read a statement from DCCCA, which operates in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. “All of these safeguards are not foolproof in predicting human behavior.”
