Famously boastful Nene Leakes not only owes more than $1 million in taxes, she also once filed for bankruptcy, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.
According to U.S. Bankruptcy Court documents exclusively obtained by Radar, the stripper turned reality star and entrepreneur filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy back in March 1996.
The struggling single mom, who then went by Linnethia Johnson, owed nearly $30,000 to various creditors, including $27,000 on a car loan and $2,000 on student debt.
Though she now owns a $2 million mansion in Atlanta, Leakes, 49, listed her value in real property as $0 in the filing.
The case was dismissed on April 4, 1996.
Just one year later, Cinderella was rescued by her Prince Charming. The star married real estate investor Gregg Leakes in 1997. (The couple split in 2010, only to remarry two years later.)
