Ex-NBA star Rasual Butler has just died, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Police told NBC that Butler – who played for the LA Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat – was driving three times the speed limit around 2:30 am, this Wednesday January 31, in Los Angeles, when he crashed into a curve. The collision caused his vehicle to tumble over and roll into Studio City Plaza. There it remained until officials retrieved the bodies and analyzed the scene.
According to reports, the 38-year-old athlete was accompanied by his wife, former American Idol contestant Leah LaBelle, 31, who was sitting in the passenger's seat of the car at the time of the crash. She also died at the scene.
Investigators are still reportedly looking into what exactly caused the accident.
