Lionel Richie Thinks Sofia Richie And Scott Disick Romance 'Just A Phase'

Lionel Richie believes his teenage daughter Sofia Richie's romance with Scott Disick will not last.

Richie, 19, and Disick, 34, have been dating for over six months but the 68-year-old singer is philosophical about it.

He said in a recent interview: "It's just a phase and I'm going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise."

"Now I know what my parents meant when I came through the door with my Afro and my girlfriend and said 'Dad, I'm in love,'" he said.

And the multi-millionaire singer is determined to use the same strategy that his father used to cope with a similar situation: let them figure it out for themselves.

RadarOnline.com had previously reported that Richie was ok with the romance but now it appears he has some more reservations but will bide his time.

"My daughter is getting me back for my Afro days! She's 19. When you're 19 you know everything," he joked.

He did give the 34-year-old father-of-three some praisre, revealing that from their few limited interactions that he seemed to be 'a very nice guy'.

Richie also paid tribute to the Kadashian family and Scott's ex Kourtney Kardashian for their ability to control the media.

"This is a well-oiled machine, the Kardashian machine. I don't really know what to think," he added.

Disick was with Kourtney for nearly a decade before calling time on their relationship in October 2015.

The pair have three children together - Mason, 8, Penelope, 5, and Reign, 3.

Kourtney reportedly began dating Younes Bendjima, 24, in May last year while Disick and Richie went public with their romance in September, 2017.
