Kim Kardashian has finally responded to the "blackface" controversy surrounding her recent makeup ads, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

"I would obviously never want to offend anyone," the 36-year-old reality star told the New York Times on Monday.

The reality star turned style guru received backlash over how dark her complexion looked in an advertisement for her debut cosmetics line, KKW Beauty, last Wednesday.

"I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it," she claimed.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, who shares two children with husband Kanye West, admitted she has "the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did," adding that she and her team "made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos" after learning the public's negative reactions.

"We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it," she admitted.

She also shared that in terms of her personal style, she has scaled back on contouring in the last six months and retreated to a more fresh-faced look.

"Having kids really changes it up," she said of her simplified beauty routine.

Kim's $48 Crème Contour and Highlight Kit (in four shades) is expected to make over $14 million when it officially launches on KKWBeauty.com this Wednesday at 9am PST.

The star's little sister Kylie Jenner recently made headlines when she was named Forbes' youngest millionaire – pulling in nine figures last year with her 2016 cosmetics brand, Kylie Cosmetics.

Kim revealed: "I'm working with the same manufacturer. I've had a relationship with them for a while actually. But the lines, they're totally separate. We don't really talk to each other about what we're doing and what our formulas are."

"My mom and Kylie had found a really great business model and found great partners. I learned so much from them," Kim admitted.

The star is scheduled to appear on ABC's The View today, June 20, in order to promote the launch of KKW Beauty.
