Divas At War! Britney Spears Slams 'Pathetic' Katy Perry After Grammy Diss

Katy Perry shocked fans when she seemingly dissed Britney Spears' "public breakdown" and infamous head-shaving incident on the Grammy's red carpet — and the pop princess isn't taking the insult lying down!

"She thinks Katy is pathetic," a friend of the 35-year-old told RadarOnline.com. "The fact that Katy came for Britney not once, but twice, just says a lot about Katy."

As Spears fans may remember, Perry, 32, slammed product placement for music videos in 2011, immediately after her competitor endorsed Sony, Make Up Forever coesmetics, and Plentyoffish.com in her clip for Hold It Against Me.

Now, as the "Roar" singer's camp attempts some serious damage control, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned what REALLY prompted this nasty new battle!

Recently, after Perry and on-off boyfriend Orlando Bloom got into a major fight, Spears was overheard telling mutual friends that she doesn't support the relationship.

The diss got back to Perry, which promoted the "Hot n' Cold" star's stinging remarks.

Despite her anger, Spears plans to take the high road, friends insisted: "Britney does not want to stoop to her level."

Instead, she posted a Bible verse on Instagram.

"Her mouth speaks from that which fills her heart," she said.
