Joy-Anna Duggar Appears To Have Welcomed Son In Hospital Despite Home Birth Plan
Did Joy-Anna Duggar suffer a medical crisis while giving birth to her first child? Despite planning on having a home birth, it appears the Counting On star delivered her son with husband Austin Forsyth in a hospital.
In a video posted on the TLC website, Joy-Anna gave details on her home birth.
"We got the birth pool set up," she said. "We got the house somewhat cleaned out. Now we need to fill up the pool and hopefully set up some beds in the guest bedroom."
She then explained how she is "flexible" to a plan B.
"Prepare for the birth and have plans, but if something doesn't go as planned then be okay with that and have another plan," she said.
Joy-Anna gave birth to Gideon Martyn Forsyth on Friday, February 23, but the baby news wasn't announced until Monday, February 26.
In a photo posted on People, it appears the 10 lb, 3oz baby is in a hospital.
More photos surfaced of friends of the couple holding the little one in a hospital room.
The Duggar family has remained quiet about the birth.
The Fayetteville Police Department and Central EMS exclusively confirmed to RadarOnline.com that no 911 calls were made from the couple's home around the time of the birth.
Joy-Anna's older sister Jill was rushed to the hospital after over 70 hours of labor when welcoming her oldest son Israel.
"I went to the bathroom and I noticed some meconium staining on my pad, and usually that is a sign of fetal distress in the baby," she said on an episode. "It was more mild so it was like, 'Okay, he's not doing too well but it's not an emergency at this point.'"
