Josh Tells All On His Ex Fergie’s Humiliating National Anthem Debacle!
They may have split, but Josh Duhamel is still his ex Fergie’s biggest cheerleader!
The actor opened up about how his former wife is holding up after she sang a widely panned version of the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the recent NBA All-Stars Game in L.A.
"I know she's been slammed and hammered for this National Anthem thing. That must be hard," Ellen DeGeneres told Duhamel on the talk show Friday.
After DeGeneres, 60, asked how Fergie was doing, Duhamel leapt to her defense.
"I think she would probably admit that it was not her best work, but the girl is crazy talented. She really is,” he said.
“She's an amazing woman — an amazing human being, really," continued Duhamel, 45. "It's hard to see somebody you care about get beat up like that. That's the business, you know? You're in this business. You put yourself out there. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose."
As RadarOnline.com reported, Fergie, 42, said she was “honored” and “proud” to perform the National Anthem, even if her slowed down and jazzy take on the song wasn’t well received.

"I'm a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended tone,” she later noted.
The singer quickly realized just how bad her performance went over, and a former band member in the Black Eyed Peas previously told RadarOnline.com that Fergie’s management team had to rush to her home "because she was a mess!"
“She was crying hysterically and really thought that this was the end of her career,” the insider said. “Of course her friends and Josh told her she was being dramatic, but the truth is no one knows what the outcome will be. She is just really sad and does not want to even leave the house.”
Duhamel, who also visited Fergie with a bouquet of flowers after the controversy exploded, told DeGeneres fans need not worry about how the singer’s doing.
"Trust me, she's fine," he noted. "She is about as resilient as they come."
