Bruce Jenner has waited his . But as the Keeping up with the Kardashians reality father's prepares for the world to see his interview with Diane Sawyer about his transition, a source close to the 65-year-old former Olympian told RadarOnline.com exclusively that he is a "nervous wreck!"

"He has been a nervous wreck this entire week," the source said, adding that he has been "chain smoking" in the days leading up to the explosive interview, and having trouble sleeping.

Although there are some family members that have been less than to live out the remained of his life as a woman, the insider said, "His girls have been surrounding him with love all week."

"They are constantly calling and texting Bruce around the clock to check and make sure he is okay," said the source.

According to the insider, Jenner "is so ready for all of this to be over with so he can get on with his life."

"Bruce also knows how important this is, though," the source told Radar.

"It is not only important to him, but also to all of the transgender people around the world who have been reaching out to him to say ‘thank you.'"
