A new layer in the Bachelor in Paradise suspension has been uncovered! DeMario Jackson's alleged sexual encounter is currently under investigation after questions arose over whether the woman involved was too drunk to consent.
"The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given," a source close to the show told PEOPLE .
As RadarOnline.com readers know, an investigation kicked off Sunday after Warner Bros. released a statement explaining that they have "become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico."
"We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations," the statement read. "Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action."
Insiders told Entertainment Tonight that Jackson got hot and heavy with a female contestant, who will remain unnamed at this time, while relaxing in a pool on set.
"DeMario was in the pool," the source said. "Next thing you know, the woman comes over and hops on his lap. They start talking and joking."
"Everyone is just going about their business. Cameras are rolling. Producers are everywhere," the insider continued. "That's when a 'third party' felt uncomfortable, claiming misconduct in the workplace. As of right now, production of Paradise is suspended indefinitely. And they are sending everyone home and telling everyone else to stay home. DeMario. . .got sent home soon after."
According to the show source, the "third party" who made the complaint was one of the producers, though other producers reportedly encouraged the two to get together in the first place.
Now, cast members are reportedly angry at the show's crew for failing to intercept the encounter sooner.
"People are pissed, and not just at DeMario. We're pissed that this whole thing happened," one contestant told PEOPLE. "They could have seen that she was drinking too much and that he was taking advantage. They could have stopped this before it got this far. But they decided to let it go, and let it happen, and see what happened? So, I'm angry at the show, and everyone else is too."
