Extreme Makeover: Rachel Maddow Edition!

Rachel Maddow has brains, but an insider told RadarOnline.com that MSNBC execs want to give her a boost in the beauty department.

"Rachel spends literally five-minutes in the makeup chair before she goes live," an insider told tell Radar. "She spends less time getting TV-ready than all the men on the channel including Brain Williams and Lawrence O'Donnell."

Indeed, some fans love Maddow for her fresh no-frills approach.

But the source said that producers are hoping Maddow, with her crop-top hair and spectacled eyes, will give the channel's amazing glam squad a little bit more time to work their magic.

"Maddow would rather focus on her script and her show than on herself," the source said. "But TV is a visual medium and a little bit more glamour would make a big difference."
