Kris Jenner revealed a shocking new bald spot on her head on May 11, and two top doctors and a celebrity hair stylist explained to RadarOnline.com that plastic surgery, aging and stress can all cause the hair loss. "Her hair appears to be thinning in the temporal hairline," Dr. David Alessi of the Alessi Institutes, who has not treated Jenner, told RadarOnline.com. "The causes are wide-ranging and can be as followed: Aging/hormonal issues, such as too much thyroid hormone, either from disease or excessive thyroid hormone intake. This sometimes occurs when thyroid medicine is taken for weight loss."

Dr. Alessi revealed more possible causes for 59-year-old Jenner's hair loss: "Surgery (a complication of a facelift can cause hair loss in areas lifted), autoimmune disease (where the body attacks its own tissues, such as lupus), infections (such as a fungal infection of the scalp), drugs (such as chemotherapy), hair treatments (such as chemical treatments to straighten hair or extensions that pull too tightly) and lastly, stress."

The momager didn't try to cover up the bald spot. "Cosmetic treatments like a facelift can cause the hair line to change, and a brow lift can even make bald spots," Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated Jenner, told RadarOnline.com. "However those surgeries typically don't create hair loss in this location."

"In her situation it's definitely possible that her hair loss was caused by stress," Dr. Youn said about the mother of six. "In that situation the hair can thin and fall out in clumps."

On May 6, 2015, Jenner looked like she was combing over her hair to cover up the bald patch. "The treatment process would include covering the defect (wigs or well-placed extensions), Rogaine topically, and eventually mini-graft hair transplants," Dr. Alessi told RadarOnline.com.

The KUWTK matriarch appeared to have a fuller head of hair in December, 2014. "My guess is that she has some thinning hair possibly from stress. Seeing a good therapist is the best treatment for that," Dr. Youn said.

On a red carpet in March 2014, Jenner was not yet showing a bald spot. "It's perfectly normal for both men and woman to lose about 100 hairs per day, no matter what your age is," celebrity hair stylist Brittany Dahl with Los Angeles' Bungalow Salon, who has not treated Jenner, told RadarOnline.com.

In November 2014, Jenner's hair loss was not as evident. "For women, hormonal changes can affect hair growth patterns as well. It's not uncommon for menopausal women to experience hair thinning and hair loss," Dahl explained.
