That was fast! Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Anna “Chickadee” Shannon just got engaged to her boyfriend, Michael Cardwell, on the show’s Season Three finale, but the couple are ready to walk down the aisle— and only RadarOnline.com has all the down-home details.
“They planned the entire wedding themselves, with no help from a wedding planner,” the source says of the McIntyre, Georgia natives. “Anna and Michael are even writing their own vows!”
The bride will trade her usual tee shirt and jeans for a white silk gown with a sweetheart neckline and long train she purchased on sale for just $212 from Lightinthebox.com, according to the source.
And the bridesmaids— Shannon’s best friend Candace and sisters. Jessica, 16, and “Pumpkin,” 13 — will also sport thrifty dresses.
“The girls will wear white and teal dresses from Forever 21,” the source reveals.
Shannon’s daughter Kaitlyn, 19 months, and little sister Alana, 8, will also have special roles in the low-key nuptials.
“Kaitlyn and Alana will be the flower girls,” the insider explains. “Kaitlyn will make her entrance just before Anna walks down the aisle.”
After their first smooch as husband and wife, the reality stars will party in the backyard with 80 friends and family members in a good ol’ fashioned Southern barbecue. The cake, however, will be more on the sophisticated side.
“Anna’s aunt is making a three-layer chocolate and strawberry cake,” the insider reveals. “The frosting will be teal and white.”
The ceremony will be filmed, of course, for the upcoming season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, expected to air later this year.
It will be the second family wedding to be featured on the TLC reality hit: Shannon’s mother June, 34, and stepfather Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, 42, said “I do” at a backyard commitment ceremony in May 2013.
