Cry Me A River: Gretchen Rossi Weeps After RHOC Castmates Scoff At Her Engagement

Gretchen Rossi hasn't gotten along well with her castmates on the Real Housewives of Orange County this season, and on Monday's second installment of the show's reunion special, the blonde beauty took viewers on an emotional roller coaster, going to battle with her posh peers.

The crescendo of the reunion, moderated by Andy Cohen, was when Gretchen melted down after the ladies, led by Vicki Gunvalson, expressed their mass skepticism that Gretchen's televised engagement to Slade Smiley was little more than a reality TV ratings ruse.

"I think if you weren't filming, none of that would have happened," Vicki told her. "I think it was all done for the show … that's what many of us think."

Heather Dubrow explained to Gretchen that when she "watched it," she "felt hollow," and Lydia McLaughlin and Tamra Barney were also on the record stating that Gretchen's magic moment was just the best storyline she could come up with for camera time, with not much else going on.

This crushed Gretchen, who fought through tears to express her disappointment at the groups's chilly reaction to her major life event.

"I'm so sad … it took me so long to get to that point … and we've been through so much and you guys have said so much stuff about us," she said, sobbing. "And the one thing that I couldn't imagine that you guys would say, is that that was made up.

"That hurts me more than anything anyone has ever said."

Gretchen said she was particularly hurt that her one-time bestie Tamra wasn't especially supportive.

"I know that you said from day one how much you thought that Slade and I were it for each other," she said, "and that's what is just so messed up about all of this."

The ladies, again led by Vicki, tried to reassure and calm the hysterical housewife, and did so to an extent.

In another uncomfortable sequence, Gretchen brought out an inflammatory text message Tamra sent about Alexis Bellino, but crafty Tamra turned the tables on her, saying that she was only trying to massage Gretchen's fragile ego and tell her what she wanted to hear. Tamra followed up telling her that many of her castmates routinely roast her when her back is turned.
