Crocodile Dummy: Aspiring Australian Politician Thinks Islam Is ‘A Country’, Believes Halal Food Funds Terrorism

The aspiring politician who has been nicknamed “Australia’s Sarah Palin” gave a shockingly uniformed interview and has the video where she said she doesn’t “oppose Islam as a country.”

Stephanie Banister, 27, is running in the conservative One Nation party in Oz, but her chances seem slim as she is also criminally charged with vandalism for allegedly posting anti-Muslim stickers on Halah food that read “Halal funds terrorism.”

Reminiscent of Sarah Palin’s interview with Katie Couric, Stephanie gave Australia’s Channel Seven News the bizarre interview where she said, “I don’t oppose Islam as a country, but I do feel that their laws should not be welcome here in Australia.”

Stephanie also incorrectly claimed that Kosher and Halal food are not taxed in the country, which they are, and that members of the Jewish religion follow Jesus Christ.

Following the interview Stephanie claimed that her statements were taken “out of context” because she meant to say “Islamic countries” and that she was portrayed as a “stand up criminal and a stupid moron.”
