April 9 2011, Published 3:31 p.m. ET
Her elimination from American Idol was one of the most shocking moments on the show's history, but RadarOnline.com can reveal that Pia Toscano landed a record deal just one day after her premature ousting.
"Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP," a source told Us magazine who broke the story. Interscope is chaired by AI mentor Jimmy Iovine.
"Starting Thursday night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing Friday morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it. Papers are being finalized. It's basically a done deal. She's signing. They rushed everything but she's so excited."
Pia spoke to RadarOnline.com in a conference call the day after she was voted off the show and was excited about her future.
