American Idol champion David Cook canceled two college campus shows in New Hampshire and Connecticut this week "to deal with personal family matters" and RadarOnline.com has the video of him making the announcement.
Cook -- looking hesitant as he tries to find the right words -- made the announcement March 28th before singing Light On during a concert at the College of William and Mary.
In addition to his announcement, Cook's reps posted a short statement on his website that says:
"We are canceling Monday and Tuesday's shows to allow David time to deal with personal family matters. Please respect his privacy at this time. David would like everyone to rest assured that we are working with the Universities to reschedule the shows that are missed."
Cook, 26, does not go into detail as to what the personal family matter is, but we do know his older brother Adam has been fighting brain cancer for over a decade.
