Scott Disick Says Rob Kardashian Never Wanted To Be Famous

Despite having one of the most famous last names in the world, Rob Kardashian never wanted to live a life in the spotlight, says pseudo-brother Scott Disick.

In an interview on the Kyle & Jackie O Show on Wednesday, Disick, 32, shared that Rob was actually "caught in the middle" when his family first rose to fame, and it was "a lot to handle for him."

Now, after years of living a more reclusive life, Disick said the 29-year-old is finally "very happy."

"He's doing great. He's doing actually unbelievable," he told the Australian radio hosts. "He had to take some time off and I think he was a little down-and-out but he's doing a lot better and I think he's very happy."

"Things are difficult sometimes, especially when you become in the spotlight very quickly overnight," Scott continued, explaining Rob's tough time with the limelight. "Your whole life changes very quickly!"

"He was just getting out of college and then he became famous quickly and I think it was a lot for him to handle," he added. "I don't think that was the path he wanted to be on and he just got caught in the middle of it."

Interestingly, Rob's new lease on life is mostly thanks to his new girlfriend — and Kardashian enemy no. 1 — Blac Chyna.

The situation is certainly a sticky one, as Blac is the baby mama to rapper Tyga, 26, who is now dating Rob's little sister Kylie, 18.

Nevertheless, sources reveal that their relationship is going well, despite family drama.

"Rob has fallen hard for Blac Chyna," a source recently told PEOPLE. "She makes him super happy and this is the first time he's felt so optimistic about life in years. She helps keep Rob in check with his health and makes sure he is abiding by his diet and exercising. He feels there is strong potential for this relationship to go a long way, but for now, they are very content and complement each other really well."
