McKay was rushed to the hospital, but he died en route, officials said.
According to investigators, Woods and the other surviving member of the family then took McKay’s truck and drove it to their home less than a mile away, leaving the boy’s dead body on the road.
After identifying the minor, police were able to track Woods down at his home.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and larceny of a motor vehicle, officials said.

Authorities said they were also working to identify who they believe was an additional person at the scene based on another voice heard in the background of the 911 call.
"This is kind of a first. I've been to people struck by cars and I've been to shootings, but I haven't ever had this happen at the same time. Sad situation all around, for all the families," said Sgt. Kevin Morris.
