A 12-year-old boy in Texas was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a Sonic Drive-In employee, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Around 9:40 p.m. on May 13, police in Keene responded to the fast-food restaurant after receiving reports of a shooting, as Front Page Detectives reported.
At the scene, officers discovered Matthew Davis, 32, shot in the Sonic parking lot. He was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his gunshot injuries.
Investigators determined Davis had been working at the Sonic when Angel Gomez, 20, and several other people arrived in Gomez’s vehicle.
According to police, Gomez allegedly was in the parking lot when he allegedly became disorderly.
Davis, who was working at the restaurant at the time, confronted him and the pair got into a physical confrontation.

As the two fought, police claim a 12-year-old boy who was an occupant of Gomez’s vehicle got a gun and allegedly shot Davis multiple times.
Police have not disclosed the minor’s identity.
Gomez and the juvenile both fled following the shooting.
Gomez was arrested when he returned to the Sonic, and the juvenile was taken into custody at a separate location, according to police.
Both Gomez and the 12-year-old boy each face a murder charge in connection with the case.
"It is a sad day in our community," Keene Mayor Lisa Parrish said about the deadly incident. "Time for us to come together and be respectful of each other. This is a stressful situation for the staff that worked at Sonic and knew Matthew, his family and our first responders who were on the scene.”
