North Carolina Man Got Incorrect Change in a Taco Bell Drive-Thru, So He Shot Up the Fast-Food Restaurant: Police

Man didn't get the correct change, so he proceeded to fire shots into the Taco Bell restaurant.

A 67-year-old North Carolina man allegedly received the wrong change at a Taco Bell and opened fire at the restaurant, seriously injuring an employee, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Around 9:30 PM on Sept. 30, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said officers responded to the shooting at the fast food restaurant in Charlotte, as Front Page Detectives reported.

Doll McLendon allegedly started shooting at Taco Bell restaurant after being give incorrect change.
According to CMPD and eyewitnesses, the incident began when the suspect Doll McLendon believed he was given the wrong amount of change in the drive-thru after ordering food.
He then left the drive-thru and went inside the Taco Bell.

McLendon went inside the restaurant and tried to resolve the issue before coming outside and shooting at the building.
Shortly after, police said, McLendon left the restaurant and allegedly started shooting into the establishment from outside.
CMPD said one of the employees, a 54-year-old man, was shot multiple times. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

One of the employees was shot several times and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Using witness statements and security footage collected from the scene, officers obtained a description of the vehicle.
McLendon’s car was later located and the suspect was taken into custody outside his home.

Residents say Monday night’s shooting points to a larger issue in the community of Apopka.
McLendon was charged with attempted murder and discharging a weapon in occupied property, officials said.

At a news conference, CMPD Maj. Torri Tellis advised anyone in a similar situation to defuse the situation rather than act on impulse.
Tellis said to “take a deep breath, take a step back…and have a genuine conversation with somebody, as opposed to being in your feelings or being upset with whatever you have going on,” WSOC-TV reported.
