Around 9:00 p.m. that evening, Mosley allegedly went to his mother’s home and had “severe lacerations to both of his hands and arms” that would be consistent with a possible knife attack, WTSP-TV reported. He reportedly went to the hospital for treatment.

During the evening of March 30, Mosley allegedly went to Lake Maggiore before again stopping by his mother’s home again, which is located around 10 blocks away from the lake.

On March 31, volunteers launched a search for Taylen. That evening, officials announced they found the child's body inside an alligator's mouth near Dell Holmes Park and Lake Maggiore.

Police said they had to kill the alligator to get the missing toddler’s body from its mouth. Taylen’s body was sent to the medical examiner to determine his cause of death.

Mosley was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and remains there awaiting trial.

In a statement, Jeffery’s family thanked everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts and said they were "heartbroken" they must begin putting the mother and son to rest.
