Her mother, also named Rosa Chacon, told WLS-TV, “She said, ‘I’ll be back, Mom. I got the Uber ride there and the Uber ride back,’ that’s what she told me.”

Rosa never disclosed to her mother where she was going or who ordered the Uber and her mother said she didn’t take anything with her, including a coat or her ID, according to WLS-TV.

Alejandro Guzman, Rosa’s boyfriend, told WLS-TV, “The cop said a crime had to be committed for them to do anything.”

Around 10:45 a.m. on March 15, the body of Rosa Chacon was found only about two miles from where she was last seen, officials said. Her family identified her through her tattoos.

The Chacon family hired a Chicago-based private detective agency to help search for the missing woman, WLS-TV reported.

Jose Richart from the Richart Detective Agency told Newsweek they “believe the case is now a homicide and Chicago Police are working diligently on obtaining results.”

The investigation is ongoing for Chicago police, but community activists are offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.
