A judge sentenced a Miami businessman to life in prison for his involvement in a murder-for-hire plot that took the life of his then-wife’s alleged lover, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Miguel M. De La O handed down the sentence to Manuel Marin, 69, on May 22 after he was convicted of manslaughter, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping, as Front Page Detectives reported.
“Your actions were senseless and cruel,” De La O said in court. “No punishment I impose can make this right.”
In 2011, prosecutors said, Marin targeted Camilo Salazar, 43, after he suspected the married father of two was having an affair with his wife at the time, according to the outlet.
On June 1 that year, Salazar dropped his newborn daughter off at an office where his wife worked and he then seemed to vanish.
Investigators later arrested three men in connection with Marin’s scheme to get revenge on Salazar.
