An Indiana mother was reportedly worried about getting sold into sex slavery, so she allegedly armed herself with a hammer and hit and severely injured her 10-year-old son before stabbing herself to try and stop it from happening, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Oct. 3 and found 32-year-old Bethany Fleming and her son both suffering from life-threatening injuries, as Front Page Detectives reported.
Both were rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Fleming was later discharged and subsequently arrested in connection with her son's injuries.
According to WANE-TV, Fleming called 911 and said she believed someone was going to sell her and her son into sex slavery, and she “tried to stop it and I hit him in the head with a hammer.”
Court documents state Fleming said she “tried to kill him." She added, according to the legal documents, “I think I killed him, and I stabbed myself.”
During the 911 call, police reportedly could hear Fleming’s son moaning in the background.
