A Texas man was sentenced to 45 years in prison in connection with the murder and brutal beating of his premature baby girl, who died less than two weeks after being brought home, RadarOnline.com has learned.
On April 30, 2018, the baby, Jazmine Rose Robin, was born premature at just 29 weeks. After spending two months in the neonatal intensive care unit, she was declared healthy and released to her parents on July 3, 2018, as Front Page Detectives reported.
However, less than two weeks later, the infant was back in the hospital with massive injuries, including head trauma, officials said.
She died at the hospital and the Houston Police Department investigated.
According to prosecutors, an autopsy was completed and showed that Jazmine had at least 70 to 80 total fractures, including dozens of rib fractures and long-bone fractures.
The baby also had two skull fractures, retinal hemorrhages in both eyes and old and new brain bleeds.

The baby’s father, 28-year-old Jason Robin, pleaded guilty to murder for his part in the death of Jazmine and he was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Jason had been engaged to the baby’s mother, who is still facing charges.
Part of Jason’s plea agreement has him testifying against the baby’s mother for her role, officials said.
He also cannot appeal the conviction or the punishment and he has to serve at least half of the sentence before being eligible for parole.
In a statement, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said, “We’re here to stand up for innocent victims, and it’s hard to imagine a more innocent victim than a newborn baby. Baby Jazmine deserved to live, and we have worked hard since her death to get justice for her.”
