A Florida couple was looking for their runaway dog and now police say the wife has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk and running over her husband, killing him, RadarOnline.com has learned.
On Oct. 20, Sally Gore, 70, and her husband came home from dinner when they realized their dog had run away because they noticed the gate was open, as Front Page Detectives reported.
Gore told police that her husband agreed to look for the dog on foot while she remained in the car.
However, shortly after her husband got out of the car, Gore reportedly backed out of the driveway and drove around the neighborhood looking for the dog as well, police said.
Once Gore got back to her house, a woman stopped her and that is when she noticed her husband’s body in the street, WKMG reported.
Gore’s husband was pronounced dead at the scene after someone called 911 about a person lying lifeless on the road with a head injury, officials said.

When police did arrive on the scene, officers said they found the man’s body near the couple’s driveway.
Police also saw Gore standing in front of her SUV, which was parked on the road, according to WKMG.
Officers claimed Gore’s car had damage on its rear tailgate and undercarriage, which would be consistent with a collision.
Police and the 911 caller both said Gore reeked of alcohol.

Gore told police she had two glasses of wine at dinner and she did not recall hitting anything. Police said her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot. A breathalyzer test was given, which came back 0.120, above the legal limit, officials said.
Gore was arrested and charged with DUI causing death and DUI, authorities said.
