Love reignited her long-running feud with drummer Grohl.

The pair have a fraught history dating back to the 1990s, marked by legal disputes over Nirvana's legacy and periodic public clashes, despite occasional reconciliations, including a widely publicized embrace at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Speaking on the podcast, Love issued the plea to Grohl: "Come out with it and just say we're cool. Be man enough to man up."

Love went on to criticize the dynamic between Grohl and his fanbase, claiming it had contributed to ongoing hostility directed toward her online.

She said: "It would really behoove me if the straight white males that are your base, if you will, stop picking on me. The millennials in particular. Gen Z is not picking on me anymore."

Tensions Rise Over Foo Fighters Frontman Silence

'The Hole' singer urged Grohl to publicly defend her from online critics.

A source said tensions had escalated behind the scenes between the pair, with Love increasingly frustrated by Grohl's silence.

The insider added, "Courtney is fuming at Dave. She feels he could shut this down instantly by saying something publicly, but he refuses to do it."

When Billy Corgan suggested during the interview that Grohl held no personal issue with her, Love dismissed the idea that this had translated to public support.

She said, "Say that to his base. It's so stupid." Another insider noted the dispute had been amplified by online trolling, with Love feeling unfairly targeted.

They added: "She believes a lot of the negativity comes from fans taking cues from Dave's silence. In her view, it leaves space for people to keep attacking her without consequence."

Love suggested several hit Foo Fighters songs referenced her personally.

Love also claimed Grohl had repeatedly drawn on their relationship for musical inspiration, alleging several Foo Fighters songs were about her.

She said, "I couldn't write a song about Dave Grohl to save my life. He's written like four songs about me, and they're hits. I'm like, 'Wait, what? Like, what about me?' I don't get it."

Grohl previously acknowledged the 1995 Foo Fighters track I'll Stick Around referenced Love, while his 2007 song Let It Die has also been linked to her.

Reflecting on his songwriting in an interview, he said: "(It's) a song that's written about feeling helpless to someone else's demise. I've seen people lose it all to drugs and heartbreak and death. It's happened more than once in my life, but the one that's most noted is Kurt. And there are a lot of people that I've been angry with in my life, but the one that's most noted is Courtney. So it's pretty obvious to me that those correlations are gonna pop up every now and again."

Grohl previously acknowledged the 1995 track, 'I’ll Stick Around' is about Love.

The relationship between Love and Grohl has shifted repeatedly over the decades. In 1999, Grohl publicly criticized her songwriting, prompting Love to later brand him a "stupid motherf-----".

Their legal battle over Nirvana's music rights concluded in 2002 with a settlement, before a brief thaw in relations years later. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2014, Love suggested they had reconciled.

She said: "Me and Grohl, we're totally tight. And I mean look, if you can give up a grudge like that – because there was a lot of c--- that went on – I think anyone can do it."
