Authorities in New Mexico released body cam footage that allegedly captures the moment when medical staff, police and a mother confront a 19-year-old patient accused of concealing her deceased newborn son in a trash bag, RadarOnline.com has learned.
In the body cam footage, which Front Page Detectives reported on, the doctor says, “We discovered a dead baby in the bathroom.”
Alexee Trevizo, the defendant, tells the group the baby came out of her, and she didn’t know what to do.
Her mother replies, “Lexee, I told you about this. I just asked you, baby, to tell me the truth.”
Trevizo explains she was scared and tells the group her baby was not crying.
As Front Page Detectives previously reported, cops in Artesia said Trevizo went to the hospital for lower back pain.
A custodian was cleaning up a restroom after Trevizo used it and noticed the trash bag was heavier than usual, so she checked and found the newborn.
In the video, a nurse speaks with a responding officer and says Trevizo had a positive pregnancy test but denied having sex.
She then asked to use the restroom and was in there quite a while, the nurse recalls. Staff eventually got her to open the bathroom and found “blood and s—” everywhere.
Trevizo was trying to clean up the mess, but staff took her back to her hospital room. The nurse explains she thought at the time the teenager had done something to harm herself but then the newborn was discovered in the trash can.
When the nurse speaks with Trevizo and her mother, she says the newborn was full-term, which shocked her mother.
Trevizo admitst to putting the baby in the trash bag in the footage.
On May 10, criminal charges were approved and Trevizo was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence, officials said.
