Body cam footage was released showing police officers in Los Angeles trying to detain a drunk man who continued drinking even after being tased, shot with bean bag rounds and hit by a police car, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Around 5:15 a.m. on Feb. 8, the LAPD said officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon suspect, Front Page Detectives reported.

The suspect, later identified as Jonathan Mitrani, 31, was allegedly armed with a knife and under the influence of alcohol and drugs, officials said.

Officers arrived at the scene and found Mitrani standing next to a person on the sidewalk.

The officers told Mitrani to drop the knife and told the other person he was standing next to to go inside.

Mitrani did not comply and instead moved towards an officer, which resulted in the deployment of a taser and beanbag shotgun, according to authorities.

Neither of the tactics worked and police said Mitrani, still armed with the knife, continued to make his way through the streets with officers following him.

Officers released a second and third deployment of the beanbag shotgun, but they were ineffective again and Mitrani ran back towards the officers.

After another deployment of the taser still had no effect, officials said an officer drove his police vehicle approximately 3 to 5 miles per hour and intentionally hit Mitrani to stop him.

He fell to the ground but immediately stood back up, still holding the knife and ran directly at the officers, according to police.

Officers were eventually able to take the suspect down to the ground and disarm him before detaining him.

Mitrani was transported to a local hospital and treated for excessive vomiting as a result of intoxication, but he was eventually cleared for booking.

He was charged with ADW on a police officer with a knife, police said.

One of the officers suffered abrasions to his left hand and both knees and law enforcement was able to recover the four-inch blade at the scene, police said.

The Force Investigation Division of the LAPD conducted an investigation, which is being reviewed to see if the use of deadly force complied with LAPD’s policies and procedures.
