Alabama Woman Arrested in Connection With 2014 Murder of Man Who Texted ‘Help’ to Girlfriend and Disappeared
Alabama woman arrested in connection with man who went missing in 2014.

An Alabama man sent a text saying “help” to his girlfriend and was never seen or heard from again. Nearly 10 years later, authorities announced a woman has been arrested in connection with his murder, RadarOnline.com has learned.
On Sept. 25, Bridgette Matthews, 42, was arrested after being indicted on murder charges by a grand jury for the killing of Charles “Bubba” Jackson Jr., who disappeared from his home in Mobile in May 2014, as Front Page Detectives reported.
An arrest has been made nearly 10 years after Charles Jackson went missing in Alabama.
Jackson was a father to three boys and was reported missing by his girlfriend and the mother of his youngest son.
His last known correspondence was a single-word text reading “HELP” to his girlfriend, authorities said.
While her ex's daughter was trying to call 911, Perez reportedly grabbed the phone and threw it on the ground, breaking it.
According to WALA, officials believe Matthews ran over Jackson and then hid his body, which has never been found.
They say she had the help of others, who remain at large.
Authorities believe others helped Matthews with the alleged murder and they are still at large.

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood told WALA, “A lot of evidence has been uncovered. This is the first in what we believe will be multiple arrests.”
Matthews has a long criminal record in Alabama.

Matthews was dating the brother of the woman Jackson was dating at the time of his disappearance, according to the victim’s sister Kisha Logan. WALA reported Matthews has a long criminal record and has spent time in Metro Jail.

Jackson’s family said they never gave up hope that his killers would be brought to justice. Logan told the New York Post, “We cried. We laughed. I mean it was literally just a whirlwind of different emotions.”
Logan is hoping she doesn’t have to wait as long for the others she believes played a role in her brother’s death to be arrested. “I just want everybody that was involved to have their day," she told the Post. I" want to know detail for detail on what happened to my brother."
