Monster dad David Turpin, who was accused of shackling his 12 children to beds and committing torturous acts within their house of horrors, finally broke his silence on the heinous crime, telling his sister-in-law he hopes his kids can forgive him.

Elizabeth Flores, sister of David's accomplice wife Louise, went to visit the evil dad behind bars and she told all about their jailhouse conversation exclusively to RadarOnline.com.

"The stuff he was saying was about the kids," Flores said, adding David cried: "I hope the kids can forgive me!'

David had hoped that relationship with his kids wasn't severed, he told Flores. "He kept hoping the kids would come visit him in jail."

"He was telling me that no matter what happened with him, he hoped that he still had a relationship with his kids," she told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "That's what he kept worrying about."

As readers know, the Turpin parents pleaded guilty on Friday, Feb. 22 to multiple counts of abuse and torture.

They each responded "guilty" as a judge listed off their charges including adult abuse, child endangerment, false imprisonment and torture.

The twisted parents have a total of 13 children. They face maximum sentences of life in prison with the possibility of parole and lifetime probation.

As RadarOnline.com reported, 12 of the couple's 13 kids were found severely malnourished after one of the teenage daughters escaped the Perris, Calif. home and called police.

The troubled parents shackled their children to beds using chains and padlocks and rarely allowed them to bathe.

The children have since been released from the hospital in which they were nursed back to health and are said to be "living in a loving California home."

Turpins are scheduled to be sentenced on April 19.
