Adam Lambert says he had "no clue" his sexually-charged performance on the American Music Awards on Sunday night would ignite such a firestorm.

Lambert appeared Wednesday on CBS' The Early Show after rival Good Morning America canceled his scheduled appearance. Speaking to The Early Show's Maggie Rodriguez, Lambert refused to apologize for kissing a male guitarist during his performance and for simulating oral sex on stage.

"I admit I did get carried away, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention."

Lambert says he didn't plan the sexually-charged moves he did on stage, saying they were not rehearsed and that they came from an "impromptu

place."

The American Idol runner-up says it didn't cross his mind that children might be watching the AMAs since they were broadcast at night. Lambert maintained it's up to parents to monitor what their kids are watching, saying: I'm not a babysitter. I'm a performer".
