Rocker Bret Michaels remains in the hospital Tuesday morning after undergoing emergency surgery, RadarOnline.com can report.
The former front-man for Poison — and current star of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice — was about to perform at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday night when he was rushed to the hospital.
Michaels, 47, had been suffering all day from severe stomach pains, but thought he had a bad case of the flu.
When doctors examined Michaels, they determined he had acute appendicitis, and rushed him into emergency surgery at 1 a.m. Monday.
A statement on Michael’s website, bretmichaels.com states: “According to doctors, Michaels, who remains in the hospital, is doing well and beginning the recovery process.
“Michaels, who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates. A listing of all dates being rescheduled will be posted to his website in the coming days.”
