The ninth season kicks off tonight with the heaviest cast yet and everyone competing in family teams of two. For added motivation before heading off to the ranch, each competitor must step on a scale in front of their friends and family in their hometown.

Discovery Health has Half Ton Teen: Confronting Addiction. Cameras follow Billy Robbins—he once had the distinction of being one of the world’s heaviest teenagers. As he heads on a path to gaining all the weight back, his mother and doctors confront him in hopes to stop his self-destructive eating habit before it’s too late.
