Eating Her Words! Megyn Kelly Apologizes For Blackface Comments On 'Today'

Megyn Kelly began her talk show on Wednesday morning with an apology for the controversial blackface comments she made one day prior, RadarOnline.com can report.

In the shocking video, shown above, Kelly fights back tears as she admitted, "I was wrong."

On Tuesday, October 23, the TODAY host shocked fans when she questioned the offensiveness of blackface during an on-air panel discussion.

Kelly said she did not find blackface to be racist on Halloween, and used RHONY star Luann de Lesseps' former Diana Ross costume as an example.

On Wednesday, Kelly said she had "two words" for her audience. "I'm sorry," she began.

The outspoken host then explained why she now understands her comments were wrong, and appeared racist.

"Sometimes I talk and sometimes I listen, and yesterday I learned," Kelly said. "I learned that given the history of blackface being used in awful ways by racists in this country, it is not ok for that to be part of any costume – Halloween or otherwise."

Kelly added that she understands that the past year "has been so painful for many people of color."

"The country feels so divided and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense," Kelly continued.

However, the former FOX News host's apology wasn't enough for TODAY weatherman, Al Roker. In fact, the frustrated broadcaster said she "owes a bigger apology" to people of color.

"This is a history going back to the 1830s – minstrel shows to demean and denigrate a race wasn't right," Roker explained.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Megyn's morning show took over the 9 a.m. time slot on TODAY at NBC, replacing former anchors Roker and Tamron Hall.

Just before the blackface controversy, sources spilled to RadarOnline.com that Kelly is desperate to return to her former network, FOX. Insiders revealed the talk show host has been feeling "isolated and alone" at TODAY.
