‘Teen Mom 2’ Dad Nathan Griffith Found 'Unconscious’ In Running Car Before DUI Arrest

Jenelle Evans’ baby daddy Nathan Griffith was arrested for a DUI on Thursday, October 17. Now, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the Teen Mom 2 dad was found unconscious in his car when police arrived to the scene.
The Cary Police Department revealed to RadarOnline.com that a call came in at 5:23pm when someone found Griffith, 32, sleeping in his car.
“He was found unconscious in the parking lot of grocery store Harris Teeter,” Sergeant Mike Ring told RadarOnline.com. “His car was running. The fire department notified us when they realized it wasn’t medical, it was impairment.”
Griffith failed a series of field sobriety tests, including horizontal gaze nystagmus, walk and turn, and one-leg stand. He refused a breathalyzer test.
“He was impaired,” the officer said. “Empty alcohol containers were found in the car. No drugs were found at the scene.”
He was arrested at 5:56pm.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to RadarOnline.com that he is out on bond.
He has a court hearing on November 1.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Griffith filed a motion to modify custody in July 2018, asking for full and legal physical custody of their 5-year-old son Kaiser.
Griffith accused Jenelle’s husband David Eason of being “violent” and a “danger.”
He also accused Evans, 27, of testing positive for THC at Kaiser’s birth. The case was put on hold amid the CPS custody war.
In April, Eason shot and killed the family dog Nugget for nipping at their 2-year-old daughter Ensley. The shooting resulted Child Protective Services removing Kaiser, Eason’s daughter from a previous marriage, Maryssa and their daughter Ensley from their care.
In May, Evans and Eason lost temporary custody. The judge told Evans that she “failed to protect the children while they were in her care.”
The source previously told RadarOnline.com, “The judge heard testimony that David and Jenelle were constantly screaming and arguing, and the children were terrified.”
The insider added, “CPS described the state of the home as horrific. It was filthy and there were holes in all of the walls.”
On Wednesday, July 3, a judge dismissed the case and the children were returned.

Protecting Kaiser
Griffith reported the dog shooting incident to police because he feared for his son's safety.
Worried Father
“There was a dispute with my ex-fiancée and her husband and he shot a dog,” he said in the Columbus County 911 call. “There’s been multiple 911 calls and abuse. I’m trying to figure out where my son is at and what I have to do in this situation. I’m so confused right now.”
Shocking 911 Call
He continued, “If he goes back, someone is going to die. Get my mother f**king child out of that house. You don’t shoot a family dog. My son needs to talk to someone, whether it’s a police officer or counselor. He shot the dog in front of my son. It’s very traumatic!”
Fighting On Hold?
Although custody was returned to Evans and Eason, a source told RadarOnline.com in July 2019 that Griffith plans to continue to fight for full custody of Kaiser. He currently has supervised visits with him every other weekend.
Sad Split
The arrest comes after Griffith and his longtime girlfriend, Ashley Lanhardt, who stood by him during the custody trial, seemingly split in September 2019.
Legal Problems
Griffith has a history of legal troubles. He was arrested on February 25, 2018 for striking fixtures while driving on a highway.
Accidental Arrest
Lanhardt previously told RadarOnline.com of the arrest, "Nathan ran out to get an energy drink alone. He was arrested for pulling away from a gas pump with the pump still in his truck's tank. It was an accident.”
Another Arrest
He was also arrested in December 2016 for possession of an open container and giving false information to law enforcement in Horry County.
Domestic Abuse
He also had charges in Myrtle Beach for domestic violence in the 2nd degree against ex-girlfriend Jessica Henry. She accused him of choking her. The charges were dismissed.
Shocking Charges
He was also arrested in August 2016 for aggravated assault and burglary against Henry. He pled no contest.
Boozy Behavior
The former MTV star was busted for disorderly conduct and public intoxication in June 2016. He pled guilty and was sentenced to time served.
Off The Hook
In February 2016, he turned himself in on a warrant for misdemeanor larceny. The case was dismissed.
More DUIs
Back in 2013, he was arrested for a DUI following a high-speed case. It was his second DUI arrest.
Jenelle’s Claims
On past episodes of Teen Mom 2, Evans accused Griffith of drinking too much while they were together.
