Wild Past Be Gone: Zac Efron Selling His Hollywood Hills Party Pad For $2.85M

The High School Musical star enjoyed Southern California’s sunny weather from his patio — and you can, too, for megabucks! Efron obviously has an interest in Midcentury Modern homes, as he purchased a bigger home in the Hollywood Hills area, built in 1964, last fall for $3.995 million.    

What is Efron giving up?  The house was built in 1947 and designed by Rodney Walker through the Case Study Program, in which prominent architects built inexpensive model homes after World War II.  However, after undergoing a facelift to accommodate modern living and being given an industrial vibe, it’s now worth a fortune.

Efron’s pool was kept alive with sparkling clean water.

That Awkward Moment star’s house for sale features 2.5 bathrooms.  He bought the place in 2008 for $2.35 million.

Efron is leaving behind this beautiful kitchen that opens up into a patio ideal for eating outdoors.  But is it all part of a clean start for the party boy actor?  This January, Efron, who underwent rehab in spring 2013, told an interviewer, “I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in.  I’ve never been this happy before.”

The former teen idol had 2,424 square feet of living space and the concrete floors were heated in his minimalistic abode.

Like most Angelenos, Efron likes to live in a way that fuses indoor and outdoor living.  And he’ll no doubt also do that in his new Zen-like home which is just five miles from this house he’s selling. Real estate experts note that Efron’s new estate offers more privacy from the paparazzi!
