Dropped Today anchor Matt Lauer has come down to earth — hard! Nearly a year after being dumped from his $25 million-a-year morning show gig following a string of sexual harassment allegations, the 60-year-old former host has been reduced to mowing the lawn to fill up his day. “Matt’s been meeting with everyone he knows to try to get back on the tube,” a source said. “But so far, he’s come up with nothing.”
Instead, the unemployed talking head was caught on camera spending hours on end trimming the grass at his 40-acre horse farm in eastern Long Island.
Lauer had better hurry and finish the job, because he’s hurtling toward divorce with humiliated wife Annette Roque.
Roque, 51, is expected to clean him out in their impending split — especially since he’s reportedly been romancing another woman on Long Island after being banished by NBC.
“They haven’t even signed off on a separation agreement, and he’s already seeing other women!” said a source. “He’d better kiss his horses goodbye — because Annette’s going to ride away with them!”
