Mama June Reveals Blindness & Surgeries Led To 25-Pound Weight Gain

Mama June Shannon suffered some major setbacks in her weight loss journey after undergoing four eye surgeries, the reality TV mom told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive video interview. “It’s mentally and physically exhausting for me,” she confessed of the health battle. “I’ve been kind of beating myself up, kind of situation.” The 38-year-old grandmother of three, who is now completely blind in her right eye, and steadily losing vision in her left, slipped back into “old habits” such as ordering delivery in the aftermath. The WE tv reality star told RadarOnline.com she had had to “lay down” often while recovering from eye surgeries, and hasn’t been able to cook — heading her to gain 25 pounds after losing more than 200 pounds in 2016.
“It’s been a hard situation for us to be able to handle,” Shannon said, referring to her daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 12.
Shannon just underwent her most recent eye surgery. “As you can tell it’s kind of puffy. Really, really red,” she said. “But like I tell people, I’m trying to take it day by day.”

The mom of four originally underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2016, and lost more than 200 pounds.
She started dating boyfriend Geno Doak soon after.
