Johnny Depp's Sister Must Leave Farmhouse After Cash-Strapped Actor Sells Property

The troubled boozy actor, who is in financial crisis after blowing his millions, just slashed the asking price of Betty Sue’s Family Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, to $1.6 million — after it failed to sell at auction for $2.9 million.
Depp, 55, has been letting his sister Debbie Rassel, 62, and her husband, Richard, live at the property since his mother Betty Sue Palmer’s death in 2016 from a long illness. But they now have to vacate their home and find somewhere else to live.
Asked where they will be moving after it sells, Richard, 70, told RadarOnline.com: “I couldn’t tell you, I don’t know anything about it. I don’t know anything about him. I don’t talk about him. I don’t know the last time he was here. I’ve been in out a lot, too.”
Family confirmed Depp and Debbie had stopped speaking altogether after they fell out over the care of Depp’s beloved mother. “Johnny and Debbie didn’t talk for about a year because Johnny flew his mother back out to California from Kentucky,” said Heather Rassel, who was married to the star’s nephew, Billy. “That upset Debbie because she takes care of her but Johnny snapped that she is his mother too.”
She added: “We all had to sign a contract ordering that we wouldn’t get in contact with either Johnny or his mom and that lasted for about a year and a half. Luckily, though, they did work things out.”
But sources say their relationship was never as strong as it was before the argument, and he can’t afford handouts, as most of his $650 million fortune is gone and he’s being sued by his former managers.
“He needs to sell the farm as soon as possible, and he didn’t think he’d have to lower the asking price as much as he has,” the insider said. “Johnny doesn’t come back to Kentucky to see family anymore and is barely in touch with Debbie since his mother’s death.”
“Everyone heard about him not being in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and that he’s in crisis, but nobody mentions it to his family,” added the insider. “When they first moved in neighbors were told to leave them alone so they could live in private, and they respected their wishes.
