Justin Bieber shocked fans with an emotional post this Labor Day, admitting to his past mistakes, and coming clean about his crippling mental health issues.

The “Sorry” singer, 25, began his Instagram statement saying, “It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning with the right attitude when you are overwhelmed with your life your past, job, responsibilities, emotions, your family, finances your relationships.”

He added that his anxiety about his life has caused him to think like a pessimist at times, and always anticipate “another bad day.”

He said that the cycle of dark emotions can get so bad that sometimes “you don’t even want to live anymore.”

Bieber then got candid about the irony between his celebrity lifestyle and his ongoing issues with depression.

“You see I have a lot of money, clothes, cars, accolades, achievements, awards and I was still unfulfilled,” he explained, adding that the pressure of stardom got to him more than he realized. Though he grew up in an unstable home — with divorced, broke parents — he was pulled into the Hollywood spotlight before he was even legally allowed to drink and told by millions how great and “ultra-successful” he was.

“I went from a 13-year-old boy from a small town to being praised left and right by the world, with millions saying how much they loved me and how great I was,” he wrote. “You hear these things enough as a young boy and you actually start believing it.”

“Everyone did everything for me, so I never even learned the fundamentals of responsibility,” Bieber continued. “By this point, I was 18 with no skills in the real world, with millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted. This is a very scary concept for anyone.”

The star explained that getting accustomed to a lavish life so early on led to some rebellion on his end and pushed him into a downward spiral of bad choices.

“By 20, I made every bad decision you could have thought of and went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged, and hated person in the world,” he wrote. “I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind, a shell of a person that I had become.”

RadarOnline.com readers know that during this time, Bieber was in an on-again-off-again relationship with Selena Gomez. Both have released songs about their romance, and sources close to Gomez, 27, have long described their love as "toxic".

In his statement, Bieber praised his new love, wife Hailey Baldwin, for helping him escape his dark lifestyle.

“Luckily, God blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me,” Bieber wrote. “Now I am navigating the best season of my life ‘MARRIAGE’ !! Which is an amazing, crazy, new responsibility. You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility, and all of the things it looks like to be a good man.”
