Queen Elizabeth is royally attached to her new granddaughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, and she’s been making a “particular effort” to ensure her transition into the family continues to go smoothly.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told Fabulous Digital that the 93-year-old Queen wants Prince Harry’s wife to feel welcome and accepted, unlike her grandson’s late mother, Princess Diana.

“Meghan seems to have forged a particularly close relationship with the Queen if you compare that to when other people have married into the royal family,” Larcombe noted.

“The Queen, last year, in the first few months of Meghan’s entry into the royal family, made a particular and slightly unusual effort to welcome her in,” Larcombe continued, noting she "never afforded that offer to Kate,” Prince William’s wife.

In one stunningly unusual offer last June, the commentator pointed out, the Queen allowed the Duchess of Sussex to ride with her overnight aboard the Royal Train to go to an engagement in Cheshire.

On other occasions, Larcombe also noted, the Queen “obviously requested” Markle’s presence, “possibly because of the lessons of the past where Princess Diana pretty much felt like an outsider in the royal family.”
