Dolly Parton has been married for 53 years, and yet, few fans have ever gotten a glimpse of her adoring husband, Carl Thomas Dean. This Monday, February 18, the "Jolene" singer showed up to an interview with Good Morning Britain and dropped a few never-before-heard bombshells about her secretive relationship.

Speaking of the fact that he's rarely showed up to any of her shows during her decades-long career, Parton, 73, said Dean, 76, "felt like he'd get nervous if I messed up (my performances) and all that. He's not necessarily one of my biggest fans of my music."

She added that while he's "proud" of her and loves what she does, he doesn't go out of his way to play her records and would much rather listen to Led Zeppelin and bluegrass music.

Parton met Dean in Nashville when she was 18 and he was 21. They tied the knot two years later, in 1966 in Ringgold, Georgia. The two share no kids together and have always remained extremely private about their relationship.

"We like each other, we respect each other, we've always had a good time. He's crazy and I'm crazy. We laugh a lot and I think that's been one of the most precious parts of our relationship," she told GMB. "We'll have been married 53 years this coming May."

During an interview with PEOPLE in 2018, she said that the secret to their long happy marriage is the fact that they have completely different hobbies; for example, he hates the spotlight, and never attends public functions with her!

"I always joke and laugh when people ask me what's the key to my long marriage and lasting love. I always say 'Stay gone!' and there's a lot

of truth to that. I travel a lot, but we really enjoy each other when we're together and the little things we do," she said at the time.
