No Sympathy! Mary Lou Retton Throws 'Huge Tantrum' After 'DWTS' Elimination

Mary Lou Retton was booted from Dancing With The Stars Monday night and RadarOnline.com can reveal exclusively the retired pro-gymnast threw a massive temper tantrum backstage!

Retton, 50, who was pegged as being a "diva" early on in the competition, revealed her secret divorce on air just moments before her exit and sources says she was not happy with the timing.

“The cast and judges think that Mary Lou tried to use her divorce to get sympathy and it clearly backfired on her,” a production insider said.

“She threw a huge tantrum afterwards about being kicked off and believed that should have given her more credit because of what she was going through.”

“But the judges saw what everyone else saw and just firmly believed that she was the weaker contestant,” the source said, adding, “She was a nightmare the entire season and everyone was glad to see her go!”

As fans know, Retton announced that she had quietly divorced husband of 27 years, Shannon Kelley, on last night’s shocking episode.

"This has been the time of my life. I hadn't challenged myself in decades, and now I challenged myself. I'm off to a fresh new start,” Retton, who scored 24 out of 30 on her final tango dance, told fans after being eliminated.
