Cash Grab! Michael Jackson Musical To Make Family 'A Fortune'

Michael Jackson’s life is coming to Broadway!

RadarOnline.com can confirm the music icon’s legacy will be brought to life on stage in 2020, and will be “sympathetic” regarding the legend’s child molestation scandal.

“The show is being controlled by his estate and will only be positive to Michael. The creative team is debating if the show will include drug abuse and child molestation accusations at all—but if the show does, it will show Michael as on innocent victim,” a source exclusively told RadarOnline.com.

“Lots of producers were interested in doing the real Michael Jackson musical but they couldn’t get the rights to any of his music unless his estate approved.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Jackson got caught in an explosive child molestation scandal during his Hollywood days. While he denied all claims, the negative backlash and vicious legal battles he endured caused him to become extremely paranoid and turn reclusive until his untimely 2009 death.

“There was no way they would approve unless the script was sympathetic. Musicals are huge money makers and this show is all about maintaining Jackson’s legacy as well as making the family a fortune," added the source.

The King of Pop’s Broadway show will feature a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage as well as a list of Jackson’s greatest hits. Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the much-awaited musical.
