‘Alaskan Bush People’ Matriarch Ami Brown Heads To L.A. Hospital Amid Cancer Battle

Tragically, Alaskan Bush People matriarch Ami Brown’s brave efforts to overcome illness may not be finished just yet.

Discovery Executive Vice President Laurie Goldberg told RadarOnline.com exclusively that “Ami’s battle with cancer is very real.”

“Her chemo and radiation was tough, but she got through it and is recovering well," noted Goldberg.

As RadarOnline.com reported, various online reports have questioned the 54-year-old’s diagnosis after she revealed that she beat the three-percent chance of survival UCLA doctors gave her last summer.

Thankfully, Brown's TV family is supportive.

“It is just disgusting that anyone would say her cancer is not real or that it was created for the show,” Goldberg said.

RadarOnline.com was the first to report that the reality program would return for season 8 and that it will feature Brown.

“The fans will get to see her journey alongside the rest of the family on the upcoming season,” Goldberg revealed. “There is definitely no drama between her and anyone in the family — they love her very much and would do anything for her.”

“Right now Ami is so happy with the family’s move to Washington," added the Discovery executive. "She has so many big plans for their new home.”
